Built for how you work. Owned by you.

Stop paying monthly for a dozen tools that don't talk to each other. CheLabs builds the one system your business actually needs.

Built for owner-run businesses: law firms, sales teams, clinics, trades, and anyone juggling too many logins.

Launching November: the Pause coaching app, built for Shawn and Anne Vanderhoven's Simon & Schuster book, 350+ users at launch.

Separate tools like Salesforce, Slack, HubSpot, and Gmail flowing through analyze, select, redesign, and build steps into one custom company platform.

Most of what you pay for, you never open.

Big platforms are built for every customer they might ever have. Your team uses a handful of screens, a few reports, and a workflow or two. The rest is seats, add-ons, and training nobody finishes. We build the handful, and we build it to fit.

Renting a stack

  • Six to twelve monthly subscriptions, most with per-seat pricing
  • Data split across tools that half-talk to each other
  • Workflows bent to match the software, not the business
  • Price increases and feature changes you don't control
  • Years of records locked in someone else's export format

Owning one system

  • One app that mirrors how your team already works
  • Connected to the tools you keep (email, accounting, calendar)
  • Source code and data are yours, in writing, from day one
  • Hosting at cost, plus ongoing monitoring and support for a flat monthly fee, if you want it
  • Simple enough that your own people can maintain it

How we work

Fixed scope, a deliverables table you can read, and a deposit before kickoff. No surprise invoices, and no agency layers between you and the person writing the code.

Intro call

Thirty minutes. You describe the systems you juggle and what slows you down. We tell you whether this is a fit.

NDA and discovery

A short, free discovery call to learn who does what. Deep discovery is the first paid deliverable, so you get something real either way.

Live proposal review

We walk through the proposal together: flat costs, any monthly fees, and a deliverables table that spells out exactly what ships.

Sign and kick off

Statement of work signed, deposit received, and you're in a slot. You'll meet weekly, bi-weekly, or just when a question comes up.

Prototype, then build

A clickable prototype first, so you react to real screens before we commit code. Then we build in phases you can use as they land.

Launch and handoff

Launch, a 60-day warranty, and a 30-day post-launch review. The code and data are yours; support and hosting are optional, priced separately.

Every build is covered by a master agreement and a statement of work you'll see before you commit. Everything we develop is owned by you, not by CheLabs. See what each tier costs and the questions people ask first.

Selected work

Four builds across clinical research, solar sales, legal, and publishing. Different industries, same pattern: fewer systems, more of what the team actually does. See everything I've built

Who you're working with

Brett Burbidge, Founder

  • 20+ years as a technology executive and builder
  • CTO at multiple companies, VP of Engineering
  • Most recently VP of Platform Enablement, supporting 2,000 users across 18 clinical research sites

I've spent two decades buying, deploying, and living inside enterprise software, and I've watched small teams pay enterprise prices for features they'll never touch. CheLabs is the version of that work I always wanted to do: sit with the people who use the system, build only what they need, and hand them the keys.
