Work

Things I've built

This is the software I've built over twenty years: for CheLabs clients, for my employers' customers, and for businesses I ran myself.

CheLabs is new. I am not. Every item here started the same way: someone had a problem, I listened, and I shipped the software.

Pause

Shawn and Anne Vanderhoven · Simon & Schuster

The coaching app for Shawn and Anne Vanderhoven's book Pause: an AI-driven leadership training workflow built around the book's 12 principles. It launches in early November 2026 to 350+ users.

Built to a customer's spec while on someone's payroll

Traffic and Alarms

For Unique Communications' customers

Monitors a voice network for errors over SNMP and IP traffic, runs live capacity calculators on Erlang C, and shows the whole network on one dashboard. Deployed at every US Air Force and Air National Guard base in the world. I built it on my own time; Unique sold it and paid me commission.

Billing system for the US Army in Germany

Through Unique Communications · I gathered the requirements and delivered it

Replaced a pile of spreadsheets and two financial systems. Ten users billing 100,000 phone lines, over $1M a month to individual subscribers, across 26 Army sites in Germany.

Products I built and ran

BinBird

SaaS for route-based bin-cleaning operators

I ran Wash A Bin in Las Vegas for five years, so I built the tool I wished I'd had. I was the customer first.

DivviHQ

Group trip planning

Other trip sites did not let the host split costs with attendees. Divvi does, down to choosing rooms and splitting a room into beds for billing.

Taskline

Task and project management

Builds follow-ups automatically on a schedule, and can listen to meetings and pull out the tasks assigned to you, using AI. Used to track tasks across multiple projects.

TutorlyLite

Tutor billing off Google Calendar

Needs only a Google login and permission to write one Google Sheet, which tracks hours with each student. Nothing else to set up.

What this means for you

The pattern across all of it is the one CheLabs sells. Listen to the problem, build the 15 percent that matters, and hand over something the owner controls.

Spark replaced four tools and an Excel payroll. The Army billing system replaced a pile of spreadsheets and two financial systems. BinBird exists because I ran the business it serves. If your business runs on a pile of tools that almost fit, it is the same job.

See what it costs, read more about me, or check the questions people ask first.

Is your setup a pile of tools that almost fit?

Thirty minutes, free. Tell me what you're running and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.

I take 6 build clients at a time. When they are full, you join the waiting list.
